I’ve fallen head over heels painting with tools that aren’t brushes. After this workshop, you will, too!

Moving beyond the brush opens us up to new possibilities and discoveries in how we create layers on our pages. Learn how to create new colors on your rich, luscious, unique pages. A Note From Tracey About Art Journaling:

Have you thought about getting into art journaling, but aren’t quite sure where to start? Does the huge quantity of mixed media supplies out there make your head spin? Wondering what mixed media is in the first place? 🙂 If you’re not sure this workshop is for you, read on.

It’s no secret that I’m a huge fan of journaling — art journaling, planners, diaries — I do them all and I love it. It keeps me mostly sane, organized, and grounded. I write, I collage, I paint, I make a mess. I am, by no means, an expert artist. But I truly believe in art journaling as a medium that can keep a person whole and healthy. And we need more healthy noggins out there in the world.

The reason I bring Kelly Kilmer to Fort Collins to teach each year

I want to share that love of journaling with you. I think that if you can make something — anything — with your hands, you are an artist. I don’t even care what you just made. The fact is that you did something. And, if nothing else, you have a record of YOU that can go out into the world long after you’re gone.

Whether you’re a new to art journaling, or have been doing it for years, you can learn something from Kelly Kilmer. Don’t consider yourself an artist? Doesn’t matter…have a glue stick and paper? You can art journal. It’s as simple as that.

Kelly’s workshops are geared toward all levels. She is generous with her knowledge and with her supply stash. And she is an excellent teacher. There is a distinct look to Kelly’s work and she helps you take what she’s teaching and meld it into your own unique style. You will learn how to make a book. You will learn about composition, collage, pen work, writing, journal prompts, and a whole lot more. And did I mention what fun we have in Kelly’s classes?
